Let’s Eat! provides speech pathology services for swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) in older adults, supporting safe, comfortable eating and drinking in residential and home-based aged care.
Our service is person-centred, evidence-informed, and aligned with the Aged Care Quality Standards, with a focus on safety, dignity, and quality of life.
Who this service is for
We support older adults who:
- Cough, choke, or have difficulty swallowing
- Experience fatigue or distress during meals
- Have recurrent chest infections or aspiration concerns
- Have changes in eating, drinking, or medication intake
- Are living with conditions such as stroke, dementia, or Parkinson’s disease
Our clinic is in Lambton, but we can also support:
- Residential aged care facilities
- Home-based aged care clients (Specific surbubs in Newcastle only)
When to refer
Referral is recommended when there are concerns about:
- Swallowing safety or aspiration risk
- Unexplained weight loss or reduced intake
- Changes in swallowing ability or mealtime participation
- Increased respiratory concerns related to eating or drinking
Early assessment supports safe care planning and reduces risk.
What we provide

- Swallowing (Dysphagia) assessments

- Advice on food textures and fluid consistency, where appropriate
- Written recommendations to support care plans and documentation
- Review and monitoring as needs change

We are currently accepting referrals for aged care dysphagia and swallowing assessments.
